About TACK

Teams association for cricket in Kuwait, now famously know as TACK was established in 2009 under the unifying promise of Kuwait's top 22 teams to promote, expand, and develop the game of cricket by improving standards in all areas of the game. TACK was formed as a non profit organization and was built solely on trust and promise. With a significant lack of experience, financial support, and expertise, yet in a short span of time TACK was able to unify all teams for the common purpose of promoting the game of cricket in Kuwait. In doing so, TACK’s first achievement was the development of three beautifully located grounds by the shores of Sulaibikhat in as less as three months due to sheer determination and vision of all its members.

Mission Statement

As the team’s association for cricket in Kuwait, TACK aims to promote, expand, and develop the game of cricket by improving standards in all areas of the game. TACK will lead by promoting the game as an equal opportunity for all its members to demonstrate their skills both on and off the field, protecting the spirit of cricket by providing all the basic requirements, and in the long run, optimizing commercial opportunities for the benefit of the game and the association itself.

This statement highlights the four key responsibilities of TACK:

  • Joint leadership of all the members of TACK
  • Ensure all the basic requirements are provided by organizations conducting
    tournaments in Kuwait.
  • Promote the game of cricket by initiating and conducting a well-organized
tournament to set an example for other organizations running the cricket show
    in Kuwait.
  • Maintain and enhance the traditional spirit of the game by being disciplined in
    its intentions and actions.

Association Leadership

TACK is run on the fundamentals of joint leadership from all its existing members. The decision making power does not rest on an individual or a group of individuals. All important issues are discussed thoroughly, and the required decisions are made through a voting system where each member would carry one vote, and the majority would be the authority.

TACK Committees

TACK Consists of six major mandatory committees which are as follows:

  • Technical Committee
  • Umpires & Scores Committee
  • Publication Relation Committee
  • Website & IT Committee
  • Tournament Coordination Committee
  • Logistics Committee

Each committee is lead by one of the chosen officer and one deputy.

TACK Tournaments So far

1st Season

In order to lead by example and make it’s vision practical; which was to “promote the game as an equal opportunity for all its members, TACK launched its inaugural T-20 tournament with the paramount support of Mr. Mahmoud Abdullah, a personality that has become increasingly popular amongst Asians and other nationalities alike for his unconditional passion, love and support for the game of cricket. The inaugural T-20 tournament was also supported and promoted by the likes of Mr. Sami Thakur, Napesco, Pizza Inn, D.H.L and Food Inn. The tournament proved to be a grand success as apart from the dignitaries, the finals were also attended by not only the former and present cricketers, but also included the presence of families and friends in large numbers, a sight which is not as common as one expects it to be.

2nd Season

After a strong and successful season that lasted a mere three months and consisted of a sole entertainment packed T-20 tournament, Tack is already midway through its second season that aims to deliver three interesting tournaments. First time in Kuwait the division system (A, B, C) based on the teams ranking is adopted. The 2nd Tack T-20 tournament started in the month of September and is yet again sponsored by Mr. Mahmoud Abdullah (Platinum sponsor) which continues to show his full trust and support in Tack’s ability to deliver some of the finest cricket that Kuwait has to offer. Esselte Leitz, the premium German brand of office supplies and stationery, has also joined hands with Tack to be the golden sponsor for the entire season in order to ensure that its brand image is maintained by associating itself in Tack tournaments where the top companies and teams participate. Many other renowned companies of Kuwait have shown great interest in supporting the initiative of TACK and there is a good possibility that more sponsorship will come through by the time the 2nd season ends which will help TACK achieve it’s goals and take the game of cricket forward in Kuwait.

Tack has already experienced fruitful growth as the number of teams has increased from 22 to 33, a significant jump achieved by the great interest generated amongst teams and players due to the benefits that TACK offers in the shape of man of the match awards (initiated by TACK for the 1st time in Kuwait), dedicated website (www.tac-kuwait.com) that has all the teams profiles, individual profiles, latest scores, report on every match, team standings and upcoming schedule etc. This also goes on to show the fortitude of Tack to deliver not only quality but also equality of cricket. In addition, a fourth ground has been added to the already well maintained three grounds in order to ensure the quantity of cricket is maintained alongside the quality of cricket
